WHEN TO TAKE THIS CLASS:
The series of 6 classes can be taken as early as the first trimester.
Our Childbirth classes are based on the Lamaze philosophy and designed for 1-2 couples.
These classes will educate and prepare expectant mothers and their partner, or support person, for healthy pregnancy, upcoming labor, delivery and recovery from childbirth
They cover normal childbirth as well as complications, pre-term labor, warning signs, variation in labor, Cesarean Section, advantages, disadvantages, risks of procedures and medications used in labor. They offer practice for a variety of comfort measures, and discuss the role of the partner or support person.
Post-Partum adjustment, lifestyle changes, newborn care and breastfeeding basics will be covered as well, at the end of the program.
These classes will help the expectant mothers gain confidence in their bodies, trust their ability to give birth, empower them to make informed choices and decisions about healthy pregnancy, prenatal care, birthing, breastfeeding and early parenting. They will help them understand the importance of a good support system.
