Expulsion of essential oils takes 3-6 hours in a normal, healthy body. So, your body will actually hold onto the oils longer if it feels like it needs them.
The different schools and practices of aromatherapy:
You don’t need to be an aromatherapist to use essential oils. In most cases, just rub it topically into the skin.
There are three main ways to get oils into your system:
The English apply it topically by rubbing it on the skin.
The French ingest and cook with it.
The Germans diffuse and inhale them, which can be the most effective method because it does not have to pass through the digestive system.
